With this whole hullabaloo about hair, schools and discrimination I was tempted to weigh in with some strong opinions and say that maybe there were importanter things to worry about in SA. That was before it dawned on me that (lack of) discipline and education aside, there are many a #GINGERout there that made it through a whole 12 years of school without a peep, let alone bunking to protest. In fairness though, beyond the obvious, it wasn’t all smooth sailing at my school because the Headmaster, Mr Morgan, let me keep my hair (much to my dismay) but wouldn’t allow me back till my mom did something about my ears! So as a preemptive strike to all those that through no fault of their own were born unable to be ginger, or ‘don’t know what it’s like’, or that view life from a ‘privileged’ blonde or brunette predisposition, I say this: #handsoffgingers #handsoffbatears and for good measure #handsoffpravin
