Norma Eleanor Briggs – Ten years on
Norma Eleanor Briggs 23/10/1939 – 08/03/2007
Ten years to the day
A decade of moments, laughter and love we’ve been unable to share
Insurmountable sadness we have been left here to bear
Nine Christmas days spent with you, but only in my mind
Countless days searching for answers, only you knew to find
For 38 years you juggled roles, from mentor and matron, to only parent, gran and friend
And now we can’t see you to say thanks, no missed calls, our messages won’t send
A whole new family, great friends, even pets you didn’t get to know
The most precious and beautiful little girl, you are not here to see grow
Words will continue to fail, descriptions will pale, in every mention of you
You are not here today, but what you would say, still keeps our compass true
The virtues of who you were, when you were, has seen us come this far
But the pain still resounds in the big empty space where you used to be, and yet you still are
With Love, Always
Wish you were here
